Thoughts On The Cuisinart Slow Cooker

If you are looking for a decent quality slow cooker for a very good price, the cuisinart slow cooker might be a good choice for you. Of course, there are good features with these slow cookers but there are some drawbacks as well.

The great thing about a Cuisinart and probably it’s biggest benefit is price. You can find a pretty nice quality Cuisinart slow cooker for under $40. Compare this to some other brands on the market and they are a great buy. Many of their models have features included that you will find on higher priced slow cookers. I have had good experiences with the Cuisinart that I had and the majority of my meals came out very good.

You will need to do some research as to what type of slow cooker you need before making a decision. Cuisinart has many different models and sizes to choose from including programmable crock pots. I have had good results with the PSC-400 which is a 4 quart programmable. Temperature control is pretty good compared to some other models and it looks fantastic with a brushed stainless steel finish.

Not everything is perfect though, and there are some things about Cuisinart slow cookers that are not so great. First off, you must realize that a Cuisinart slow cooker is not a commercial grade quality and there are some things that are cheaply made on many of these. For example, the knobs could be a little more solid. Also, many of the cheaper cookers cook very hot. Anyone with any experience slow cooking knows that this is not good as you can overcook your food very easily.

Overall though, Cuisinart makes very good slow cookers for the person on a budget who wants something of decent quality. The Cuisinart PSC-400 that I mentioned, runs about $80 so it is a little more expensive but cooks fantastic with very good temperature control.
